The City of La Porte is accepting applications for Industrial Waste Inspector. This position is responsible for record keeping, inspection, sampling and permitting industries to maintain compliance with The City’s industrial waste ordinance according to TCEQ and EPA guidelines. Interested candidates should have one year experience in industrial waste and a minimum of 100 hours TCEQ approved wastewater training. Applicant must possess a Class C Wastewater Treatment certificate or Class II Wastewater Collection certificate and a valid Texas driver’s license. Job Title: Operator-in-Training or Operator I – Water Production Salary: Operator-in-Training $11.88/hour Salary: Operator I $15.97/hour plus $.14/hour for T.C.E.Q. Class “C” License Job Summary: Assists in the operation of a water treatment plant to control flow and processing of water in accordance with State and EPA requirements. Minimum Qualifications for the Operator-in-Training position: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. The ability to obtain a Class “C” State Certification in Ground Water, issued by Texas Commission on Environmental Quality within 18 months of continued service. Failure to obtain certification in 18 months will result in possible termination.
